After the tour of Strasbourg, students went home with their exchange partners for weekends with their families. On Friday night, the French students rented out a hall to host a dance for the group and, on Saturday night, the students all cooked using an outdoor wood-burning pizza oven in Maxime's backyard. Maxime is Calvin's exchange partner, and he lives in the city of Eschau. When not together as a large group, families planned individual day trips and experiences for our students. Many of them spent Sunday at Europa Park, a European version of Six Flags just across the border in Germany. This weekend provides a great immersion experience for students to learn about real life in Alsace and to continue improving their French.
