Bonjour! Today was super busy, but the weather was beautiful and we saw lots of cool things.
After meeting at the lycée, we took a bus to Haut Koenigsbourg, a medieval castle that overlooks the Alsatian Plain. We went on independent tours of the castle and grounds (with audio that gave information on the history) that proved to be really interesting. We took a much-needed break for some chocolat chaud and café au lait before it was back on the bus to Colmar.
Colmar is the cutest, quaintest French town you could imagine. There, we ate lunch, took a guided tour, and had some free time to explore the town. Although we were pretty exhausted by then, most of the students went to get souvenirs or a snack before heading back to the bus.
Then, we took the bus back to Erstein where the French students prepared a petite soirée for us. There was Alsatian food and folk dancing, which was very different than any type of dancing we're accustomed to in the United States. But it was very cool to see how proud the Alsatians are of their culture and imagine how they celebrated way back when.
A bientôt!

P.S. Shout out to my family whom I miss very much!
